Ra.One (Hindi) is the fourth biggest worldwide grosser ever at the moment and with an overseas pending in a few markets it could become the third biggest in time. Below are the top ten worldwide grossers of all time.
The Dirty Picture (Hindi) had very good first day of around 8.25-8.50 crore nett as per early estimates. The film has done very well all over especially in Maharashtra. The single screens of Maharashtra, CP Berar and Nizam have recorded excellent collections. The film was also released in Telugu which probably added another 20-25 lakhs.
If we compare with last week's Desi Boyz opening day, The Dirty Picture has collected better all over than that film apart from Delhi city, East Punjab and Gujarat.
The film will have a strong weekend and should collect around 27 crore nett. The film has done very well at mass centres so these areas will be very strong on Sunday.
Desi Boyz was off to a Good Start on Friday. The Film is having some hard time in maharashtra as bandh has been called in kohlapur and pune.
The Film Will Recover in these regions as the bandh is for one day mainly and the film is being appreciated by majority of the viewers. The Magic of Akshay Kumar and John Abraham May Work once again at Box office, that is what is more likely at the moment.
The First day Box Office Collection may come around 6-7 crores. The film has taken a very average opening of 45% for the Shows till afternoon. Depending on how the film performs in evening shows the collections may jump a lot or drop a lot.
Desi Boyz has taken one of the best single screen opening of the year also. Punjab and Delhi/UP belt is very strong for all Akshay Kumar starrers including this one. Both, Rockstar and Ra.One will be affected largely from Desi boyz.
Rockstar is performing really well at the theatres. Its Second Week Box office Collections are also one of the finest this year.
The Film Netted a Total of 15.25 crore collection this week. The First Week’s Updated Figure is 48.75 crores. This Takes the 2 Week total of Rockstar to a huge 64 crore Figure.
Rockstar has Collected $2.65 Million Overseas in 2 Weeks. This Figure in India Rupee is 13.5 crores.
Hence, Rockstars 2 Weeks Worldwide Collections are 78 crores approx. Rockstar’s business will be surely affected due to release of Desi Boyz.
