The film has set three new box office records in its three-day run at the box office. It released on Wednesday and raked in a decent collection of Rs. 18.50 crore nett despite the fact that people prefer to stay away from theatres on Diwali because they are busy conducting Laxmi Puja or visiting friends and relatives. In that context, Ra.One has turned out the highest grosser on the Diwali day. That’s record number one.
Record number Two: On Thursday, the film’s collection rocketed to a mammoth Rs. 25.10 crore which is the highest collection ever by any Hindi film on a single day.
Record number three: The film’s three-day collection has surpassed the collection of Bodyguard. The Salman Khan blockbuster held the record of highest three-day collection with a staggering amount of Rs. 52.60 crore. Now, that record has been broken by Ra.One with a figure of Rs. 53 crore in its three days at box office. In fact, if you add another Rs. 4 crore from the dubbed version, the collection would spike up to Rs. 57 crore.
That’s a heartening response by any yardstick. The film still has Saturday and Sunday to finish off its extended weekend.
