Here in New delhi for the day, to meet the grandchildren and to be with them at a crucial stage of their life .. their future educational decisions ! It is a moment which according to me, is one of the most important decisions that parents take for their off shoots. Where to send their children to be educated and whether the selected institution shall be of benefit to them. What ever they may acquire at this most important stage of their lives shall remain with them till forever. It is imperative therefore that much thought needs to go into the factor that shall perhaps change all their thinking and future plans.

We sometimes overlook this aspect in the upbringing process of our lives and the lives of our children. But when years pass by and we find that handicaps, issues come up then it is these very days that we remember and that shall have effect on the minds of our children.

The formative stage it is called. And called so because whatever we imbibe now remains forever etched in our minds as the gospel truth. And as life moves on, we discover that we rely on what we learnt during these years that eventually stand us in good stead. Whatever needs to be expressed by us as parents and grandparents to our children now is what shall be followed by them. For, they are young and impressionable. The longer we take to fill them up with ideas thinking and thought, the more difficult we make it not just for them but for ourselves as well. A little delay could cost us a lot more than we sometimes apprehend. The delay gives them the opportunity to make up their minds without any guidance. Which could be a good thing up to a point. But in the absence of mature inputs mistakes and wrongful decisions could have a deep effect on the future of the child.

Many take pride in the fact that they were able to give their children independence in their thought. In someways it could be a good step. But if there is opportunity to perhaps sit and guide them along with their independent thought, it would be most helpful.

The Supreme Court judgement in our favor for the film Aarakshan has been a historic decision. No State or institution has the capacity now to ban any film, that has once been passed by the Censors. Prakash Jha has through this independent move, removed the hurdle of every film in the future, were they were to be disturbed by any organization.

So UP, where it was banned is now opened to 65 centers and the response even though delayed due to the ban has been extraordinary. The shows are being patronized by 90 to 100 % audiences. It has already done a business of 58.3 cr and counting now with the fresh UP collections and with a sale of 22 cr for the satellite it is a most successful film. I am happy for Prakash Jha. He took much pains in fighting the oppressor in this venture. But the ultimate decision shall not just benefit him but all films that shall be released in the future. He has in one swell move done great service for the entire Film Industry of the country …

Meanwhile KBC continues to attract the highest TRP’s in reality shows and has proved once again its potential and strength as a game show. I am indeed proud to be a part of it and wish to compliment Sony and their entire team for this stupendous record of success. We need now to keep it at a high level of viewage and that is what the challenge shall be .. no effort to work hard at it shall be ignored .. god willing !!
